Elliott WILCOX c/o MAKING PICTURES photographed British musician Tom Grennan for the cover spread of the S/S ‘21 issue of Rollacoaster magazine. The spread was realized in cooperation with the beautiful TOMMY HILFIGER project ‘Moving Forward Together’.
“Helping each other out is most important. More laughing and less frowning – then we’ll live in a better place.” Tom Grennan
Whether he’s shopping for neighbors during lockdown or volunteering for charity organizations for the mentally ill, after suffering from several severe setbacks himself, it’s important for Grennan to share his luck with others. Singer-songwriter Tom Grennan would like to give back to the community he grew up in. With little things or big things, he helps wherever he can.
Tom Grennan grew up in Bedford as the son of a construction worker and a teacher. He first pursued a career as a soccer player, only to ultimately study acting in London. During his studies, he taught himself how to play the guitar autodidactically as well as with YouTube, after which he started to perform in pubs. He was discovered there one evening by the record label Insanity and signed his first record deal. On 6 July, 2018, his debut album ‘Lighting Matches’ was finally released and reached number five on the British charts. His song ‘Little Bit of Love’ from his latest album ‘Evering Road’ is now in the charts. Amen.

Paul CALVER c/o MAKING PICTURES on his personal work : “5000m, 12.5 laps around a track. The aim, finish with zero left in the tank and your heart rate maxing out. Any less and you’ve not reached your potential, any more and you’ll burn out before the end. I waited patiently at the finish line to capture those post-race emotions in all their exhausted and elated glory!”
MAKING PICTURES on the photographer : “Whether working in a studio or out on location, Paul Calver captures authentic moments and creates crisp, distinctive images to remember.”
About – PAUL CALVER. Born in Suffolk, Paul’s first love was skating, but in 2002, he dislocated his knee on a trip to Germany, picked up a camera instead and hasn’t looked back. He is well known for his beautifully shot sports photography, whether runners snaking through snowy mountains or surfers riding waves off the west coast of India. Personal projects like ‘Bodies’ – in which he explores the perfect athlete’s form – push the parameters of his work, and these experiments feed back into commissions for sportswear giants such as Nike, adidas, and Asics. But there is much more to Paul’s portfolio than sports imagery, and he is adept at shooting atmospheric reportage projects, too. His sun-kissed ‘Big Sur’ series captured the West Coast in all its glory while his work for the 81 Dean Street development won Best Design Series at the AOP Awards in 2014.
