With “It’s a LoVely Day for a Guinness,” Guinness reinterprets its iconic brand line. The idea by AMV BBDO London is as simple as it is distinctive: the iconic Guinness harp becomes the letter “V”, transforming “Lovely” into “LoVely.” For the images photographed by Dan Burn-Forti, Stanley’s Post came on board to handle the retouching – with the aim of preserving the photographer’s distinctive, authentic look through to the final images.
"It’s not often that everything sings at once, and when it does, you want to shout about it. We’re incredibly proud to have worked closely with our long-term collaborator, photographer Dan Burn-Forti, on Guinness’ new LoVely campaign. Seeing it out in the wild, across billboards and cities, makes our hearts sing. It’s a brilliant reminder of why great ideas, photography, craft and print still hold such power in an increasingly digital world." - Stanley's Post
“What an absolutely fantastic brief from the marvelous folk at AMV. We shot at breakneck speed, in all weathers, over two hectic days, and the pixel wizards at Stanley’s kept the realism alive while making our pints look ruddy gorgeous. We asked for a lot but knock me down with a feather if they only went and rose to the challenge. Drinks for all I say!” - Dan Burn-Forti
“LoVely” was conceived by George Hackforth-Jones, Vanessa Fowler Kendall and Daniel Mead at AMV BBDO. The campaign is currently running across Ireland and Great Britain, with a global rollout to follow.
