Treatwell, founded by Lopo Champalimaud—a Canadian who made London his home—is one of Europe’s largest booking platforms for hair and beauty appointments. The current campaign was specifically designed to appeal to a young, trend-conscious audience. The brand’s stated goal is to make the beauty and hair industry more inclusive and to appeal to everyone, regardless of norms or stereotypes.

The campaign was photographed by Tom van Schelven. Lifestyle specialists from RETOUCHED-STUDIOS in Hamburg once again handled post-production.

Authentic emotions, playful poses, and unconventional angles—these elements position the brand as approachable and inclusive.

The platform was originally founded by Lopo Champalimaud under the name Wahanda. In 2015, Japan’s Recruit Holdings acquired a majority stake in the company for approximately 117 million US dollars. Following the acquisition, Wahanda purchased the Dutch-German start-up Treatwell. As the Treatwell name worked better internationally, the entire group was rebranded as Treatwell in early 2016.

The deal for participating partners is as follows: a commission is charged only on a customer’s first booking—similar to a referral fee. All subsequent bookings are completely commission-free. Starter packages are available starting at 39 euros per month.

Over the years, Treatwell has grown steadily through the merger of various European platforms—such as Salonmeister in Germany and, most recently, the Southern European provider Uala—while remaining under the umbrella of its financially strong Japanese parent company whose global portfolio also includes brands like Indeed and Glassdoor.
