Marcus SMITH c/o MAKING PICTURES photographed the American football player DeVonta Smith for the label VRST. DeVonta Smith is usually dressed from head to toe in VRST when he’s off work – the athleisure fashion brand of Dick’s Sporting Goods, which was founded in 2021. The brand offers a broad selection of clothing, from T-shirts, button-down shorts, to jackets or even parkas, coats, sweaters, shorts, dress pants and jeans.
How did it happen? After graduating from college, DeVonta Smith was one of the most sought-after receivers in his draft class; only Ja’Marr Chase from LSU and Jaylen Waddle, a former teammate of DeVonta’s from Alabama, were drafted before him. With a Heisman trophy and two national championship wins, DeVonta Smith received dozens of sponsoring offers, of course,
So why VRST ? “How comfortable it was and the material of it. You have these big-name companies that come after you and I had never heard of VRST, but once I tried it on and it was comfortable, I knew it was the one.” DeVonta Smith tells Boardroom.
“With his personality and his lifestyle, we were very happy to have him on board because he is like a muse to us when it comes to who this guy is and the kinds of products we develop. So it fit perfectly with what we were looking for.” Alycia Scott, Vice President of vertical brand design at VRST, tells Boardroom.
VRST is available exclusively on VRST.com and dicks.com and is carried in more than 400 DICK’S stores.

“What happens when the one thing you trust disappears? You suffer for a while, then you find ways to cope, find other places to channel your energy, then eventually, if you’re lucky, you learn something new, embrace your scenario and find a new perspective. When my running had to stop due to injury, I found the water.” says runner-turned-swimmer Tilly GW.
Nike Swim offers you top performance for the highest level of athletic excellence – where quality materials, great colors, a perfect fit and impeccable workmanship all come together.

We have a first glimpse of the new and very personal project by Maggie SHANNON c/o MAKING PICTURES for you, which was photographed in South Carolina and Georgia.
“The project started as a way to explore my family roots in the South, a place I’ve never visited before. My great-grandfather Wing Hamilton was a world-renowned horse dentist who grew up in Aiken, South Carolina. He was a civil rights activist and traveled across the US, Dubai, England and Japan to work on his client’s horses (including Queen Elizabeth’s horses).
His brother Thomas Hamilton, however, was the Grand Dragon for the KKK for Georgia and South Carolina, and was arrested by the FBI in one of their first cases against the terrorist group. I’m exploring these two brothers and the South as a way to look at the current political climate in the US.” Maggie Shannon, photographer.
