May we have your attention please : Lars BORGES c/o EMEIS DEUBEL photographed the ‘#moreMindful’ campaign for the German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transportation as well as the lead agency Scholz & Friends. The campaign calls upon drivers to show more mutual respect in traffic.

On the website of the initiative, we read : “Safety has the highest priority in road traffic, and mindfulness can contribute to it considerably. More than 80 percent of those surveyed think that mindful behavior can reduce the risk of having an accident significantly or more. We’re not talking about driving more attentively. Mindfulness also means being careful, respecting others, being considerate toward others, and also the willingness to give up your rights sometimes, i.e., even the right-of-way.”

More than two million traffic accidents occur on the streets of Germany each year – from simple fender benders to the most severe accidents. In 2022, there were more than 6,400 accidents every day – and in 982 cases, people were either injured or killed. In total, people were injured in more than 350,000 accidents – 2,776 of which fatally. With this in mind, both the German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transportation as well as the German Road Safety Council (DVR) are pursuing a Vision Zero strategy. The goal : zero severe injuries and zero fatalities in road accidents.

#moreMindful is an initiative of BMDV, the DVR and several more partners such as ADAC, DEKRA, the German Taxi Association, the Railway and Transportation Union (EVG)….
