We are surrounded by the artificial. Much of what we see is copied, generated, staged. But what does intimacy mean in a world that is completely unplugged?
For this project, photographer & DoP Tian met three couples in Barcelona and Madrid and spoke with them about their idea of intimacy, while the cameras kept rolling. No script, no direction, just presence.
From a quiet breath to the effortless heat of a kiss, images emerge that do not perform, but simply exist. Tian observes with sensitivity and respect, condensing closeness into a quiet composition of glances, skin, distance and touch. In front of the camera: Gina & Paula, Catta & Otto, Pol & Aida.
