WOLL was founded in 1979 by Norbert Woll, a trained chef. Dissatisfied with the quality of the pans available at the time, he took matters into his own hands and developed his own products for both professional and home use.

For the new WOLL × TIM MÄLZER campaign, photographer Philipp Rathmer captured Hamburg-based TV chef Tim Mälzer alongside a series of pans developed in collaboration with WOLL. The collection features three pans, each made from a different material and designed for a specific purpose—all crafted to meet professional kitchen standards and available in specialist retail stores starting in October.

WOLL products are defined by their technological innovation and exceptionally robust construction. One of the company’s most well-known inventions is the detachable handle—though, notably, this feature was intentionally omitted from this particular collection.

WOLL utilizes highly advanced, durable non-stick coatings (some reinforced with diamond or titanium crystals) and is actively transitioning toward a product range that is entirely free of PFAS. Regarding this latest collaboration, Woll explains: "It’s not about one pan for everything; it’s about having the right material for the task at hand. Tim Mälzer brings his extensive culinary experience, while WOLL contributes expertise in materials, construction, and cookware.

Not every dish requires extreme heat, the development of a patina, or complex cooking techniques. Often, you just need a pan that does exactly what it’s supposed to do—whether you’re cooking eggs, fish, vegetables, pasta, fried potatoes, or whatever happens to be left in the fridge. That’s precisely where cast aluminum excels. With its even heat distribution, ease of handling, and a PFAS-free non-stick coating, it serves as the versatile all-rounder in the Mälzer-WOLL series. Made in Germany and designed for the realities of everyday cooking."

Unlike many competitors who have relocated their manufacturing to Asia, WOLL deliberately keeps its production in its home region of Saarland (Saarbrücken and Saarwellingen). Since 1997, the company has been managed by the second generation: André Woll and his mother, Ursula. Today, WOLL products are valued in over 60 countries.

The creative director was Ian Burren; styling was provided by Sue Dietz (c/o Liganord), hair and makeup by Maja Botic, food styling by Marcel Stut, and post-production by Blink Imaging.
