We are delighted to welcome new entry DANIEL HARTZ to GoSee. He has been working as a successful advertising photographer in Hamburg and Stuttgart for over 20 years and is also works in the film sector. Daniel’s imagery focuses on design, his style features clean lighting and bold results. His portfolio covers clients such as Audi, BMW, Lufthansa, Porsche, VW, Fiat and Lexus.

Daniel Hartz recently photographed and filmed the new LEXUS NX. The NX is the new compact SUV by Lexus, boasting futurist design approach polarising the viewer with edges, sleekness and shininess, which Daniel mirrored in his photography and choice of location. He was faced with the challenge of finding the right locations in the right dimension, so that he could shoot photo and film there. In the end Daniel and the team from Michael Schott and ViewMasterCGI decided to create the location using CGI. The result insured the ideal visual conditions for the recommended perspectives and the right lighting effects.

The client placed great importance on a uniform look for photo and film to achieve the ideal synergy effects for each type of communication. It was challenging for Daniel to integrate the photographed vehicles into the changed environment, which also proved particularly tough when it came to the filmed part. In the studio at times twelve 8 metre Bago lites were required to create continuous light reflections in the car’s varnish. The transformation from a photo to a film set had to be clearly defined in advance, especially when both the car and the camera are constantly being moved. Daniel was the director and DOP behind the camera and also oversaw the cut and soundtrack.
