The new NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick reveals a different side of Berlin: urban, creative – and at the same time pleasantly, not to say surprisingly, relaxed. Located directly on the Dahme River and overlooking the historic Köpenick Palace, this lifestyle hotel combines art, design, and the Berlin way of life into a truly unique experience.
Claudia Gödke photographed the food campaign for the CLASH Restaurant at the NYX Hotel – which sees itself more as a creative gastronomic and social hub than a traditional hotel restaurant.
The new NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick opened in May 2025. The official opening took place on June 12, 2025. With 190 rooms, an open lobby, restaurant, bar, and a spacious waterfront terrace, the hotel sees itself not only as a hotel but also as a social meeting place for travelers, creatives, and Berliners alike.
The concept follows the NYX brand philosophy: hotels as vibrant places for culture, encounters, and inspiration. Originally opened as the Pentahotel Berlin Köpenick, it was acquired by Leonardo Hotels in August 2023 and, after extensive renovations, transformed into the lifestyle brand NYX Hotel.
Why the name NYX? It comes from the Greek goddess Nyx, who, according to mythology, emerged directly from primordial chaos. She symbolically represents the darkness of night, but not in a negative sense – rather as a powerful, awe-inspiring primal force. She is considered a kind of "mother of the forces of the night and of human destiny."
The NYX Hotels brand belongs to the Leonardo Hotels Central Europe group, which in turn is part of the Israeli hotel company Fattal Hotels Group. NYX was developed as a lifestyle brand within the Leonardo portfolio.
While the classic Leonardo Hotels are geared more towards business and city travelers, NYX positions itself as a modern lifestyle and design brand with a focus on art, nightlife, music, and the local creative scene.
