Popular German actor Matthias Schweighöfer answered children reporters Louisa and Tamino’s questions for the ‘I want to be the hero’ feature for MEIN SPIEGEL. He spoke about embarrassing life situations, dealing with the paparazzi and gave advice on how to become an actor: ‘get into a character and see how convincing you can be.’ Marcus Hoehn took his picture at the stylish Hotel de Rome in Berlin and Florian Penke carried out the post-production.

Marcus also portrayed Karen Brieden, who is the new administrative director and deputy director of the ZDF TV channel since January 2014. Bauwerk in Cologne served as a backdrop for the shoot. Jennifer Hahn carried out the styling, hair & make-up by Tricia Le Hane. The two assistants Henriette Bandulik and Florian Penke helped create the final look.

Photographer Marcus Hoehn experienced a mushroom overload when he portrayed Georg Schneider for BEEF! magazine. The director of Chido’s Mushrooms grows oyster mushrooms from coffee grounds all year round in a basement in Berlin. Coffee is a spectacular breeding ground for fungi. After four weeks in the basement the first mushroom heads start sprouting and a few days later they are ripe and ready to be harvested. Within hours, the nutty-tasting oyster mushrooms can be delivered to fine restaurants and wholesalers in the capital. By the way, everyone can order their own mushroom growing kit from the mushroom specialists’ website. www.frischepilze.com.

In addition Marcus Hoehn produced photographs of vegan chef Attila Hildmann and his adoptive mother for a spread in MYSELF magazine titled ‘the fat years are over’. When his father suffered a heart attack a few years ago, Attila was faced with a massive wak-up call. He began looking into healthy nutrition and eliminated all animal bi-products from his meals. Since then he has not only lost 30 kilos, but also produced multiple successful books on the subject. Jenny Hoch interviewed him. Make-up artist Lena Schleweis created the cook’s look. ‘The power of thoughts’ – playing pinball without hands: an interesting reportage in GEO MAGAZINE. Marcus Hoehn was the portrait photographer of choice for a mindreading special in GEO MAGAZINE. Scientists play pinball without using their hands and move wheelchairs simply by thinking about it. This is made possible by a technology that makes electric brain signals legible – which could be a great help for disabled people. Jürgen Bischoff wrote the article.
