Fashion designer WILLIAM FAN was one of the most convincing newcomers at the Berlin Fashion Week in the Fall/Winter 2015 season. In contrast to the wide-spread trend toward an artificially damaged streetwear look among Berlin's newcomers, the young designer (born in 1987) inspires in his first collections with the unusual precision of his cuts, through artisanal finesse as well as with glamorous statements while still maintaining a purist look. The Hanover-born son of Chinese immigrants intuitively blends the expertise of European couturier skills with Asian tradition. Minimalism, a functionality reminiscent of work clothing and playful details intertwine to form a confident synthesis. Conclusion: WILLIAM FAN revives retro-futuristic fashion.
