Romain Duquesne was behind the camera for the Acne Studios F/W 2026 Collection. Arriving in the year of the Swedish label’s 30th anniversary, the collection takes its own history as a starting point – not as a nostalgic retrospective, but as a way of reinterpreting familiar codes.
Under Creative Director Jonny Johansson, classic, almost aristocratic elements meet the subcultural attitude that has accompanied Acne Studios since its beginnings. Preppy cardigans, argyle knits, shirts, checks and tailoring are combined with shifted proportions, layering and relaxed silhouettes.
Acne Studios describes the approach as “Heritage as a bridge to future classics.” “I have a library in my mind of things that I circle around,” says Creative Director Jonny Johansson of his references spanning fashion, music and culture. After 30 years, he sees this archive as a shared heritage: “Its heritage represents all of us, and we carry this forward.”
Romain Duquesne photographed the FW26 looks in carefully composed interiors. Floral sofas, patterned upholstery and a bourgeois-inspired living-room aesthetic meet the collection’s idiosyncratic styling – playing with the past, familiar codes and their reinterpretation.
Born in Belgium and now based in Paris, the fashion and art photographer combines high fashion with conceptual approaches and influences from art and contemporary culture. Discover more work by Romain Duquesne via Bird Production.
