Jung von Matt/craft : Electric Drive for MERCEDES-BENZ AMG, cool birds for HEINEMANN duty free, DIY home improvement ideas for OBI and a free CGI project with Mediterranean flair

MERCEDES-BENZ and Jung von Matt/Alster brought the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive to the racing track. ANKE LUCKMANN shot the world’s most powerful electronic sports car on the Formula 1 racecourse in Barcelona. An important task was to highlight the blue chrome paint on the car.

The JvM/craft team carried out the post-production in-house. The aim of the print heavy image campaign is to communicate Mercedes-Benz’ technological leadership – it will also feature a 30x10m blow-up poster at the Mercedes Museum.

Jung von Matt/brand activation created a remarkable look to advertise HEINEMANN duty free. They initially shot the body parts in Valencia and went on to photograph the lively birds in Munich - with the help of an animal trainer. The photographer was Kipling PHILLIPS c/o BIRGIT STÖVER.

JvM/craft created imaginative figures out of the bird’s heads and human bodies and by doing so have helped make the campaign, which is displayed at airports and online, really take off. Art director Florian Striepke is still fascinated: ‘photographing the headstrong birds was challenging, but the boys did an amazing job with the post-production.’ See the first images here on GoSee – more are still in the works.

OBI gets off to a good start to the winter season with ‘ideas to make your home beautiful – it’s simple with OBI’. The charming ads inspire the customer to make their home more cosy and beautiful with a little help from OBI. Jung von Matt/brand activation created the before / after concept, JvM/craft worked on the production with photographer Volker Wenzlawski.

The activity of the extensive dialogue campaign links all relevant online and offline channels including a 40-second TV image spot.

A free work was developed in cooperation with Maground photo agency. They put a Mediterranean spin on the Mercedes-Benz CLS-class and sent it to the South of France. They also developed a special kind of car paint for the shoot and consciously kept the editorial look for the motif.

Alexander Bouquet, JvM/craft’s CGI director tells us: ‘we were completely satisfied with the delivery of the high quality backplate and the accompanying HDRI-sphere and were able to integrate the car via CGI without any decrease in quality.’
