CHRISTIAN ANGERER has been navigating the media circus already since 1985 – his passion for which lies above all in the area of cinematic photography, and particularly black & white. Christian works for domestic and international clients alike from his base, which may be in Munich, but you’re just as likely to catch him in New York, Cape Town, Paris, Barcelona or Venice – precisely where the job, or the wind for that matter, takes him.
For his work, the photographer has received numerous prizes throughout his impressive career, including awards from the ADC or even a Cannes Lions.
His work credo in a nutshell : “Show courage of character, be real women and real men, but please be real.” Christian explains : “A lot of Instagram pictures today are manipulated via Face App and Co, slick and alienated, a real identity theft. There is an urge to achieve absolute perfection, which cannot be maintained in real life and thus frustrates many people and makes them ill. Personally, I would also find it boring and quite pretentious to rob women and men of their identity in hours of Photoshop beauty surgery.”
