The Oslo-based design and illustration studio Darling Clementine c/o AGENTMOLLY & CO created the vibrant packaging design for the new Moonstone Saké Infusions line by the Japanese-American producer SakéOne.
Founded in 1992, SakéOne is known for its award-winning sake that blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern openness and innovative flavor profiles. The visual concept combines delicate illustration, color psychology, and clean typography, capturing the unique personality of each infusion. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and Nordic minimalism, Darling Clementine achieves a perfect balance between tradition and contemporary lightness.
"We love creating packaging where flavour takes center stage. Every project gives us the chance to design flavour icons that feel fresh, distinctive, and unmistakably tied to the brand. The aim is simple: visuals that draw you in, make you smile, and feel perfectly at home within the product’s identity. Our work on Moonstone Sake is a perfect example. Together with Flint Design, we partnered closely with both agency and client to bring the vision to life. The iconic blue bottle offered the ideal backdrop, letting the flavour-led illustrations shine. Across five bottled varieties and two canned expressions, the collection feels cohesive yet gives each variant its own unique personality." DARLING CLEMENTINE
Founded in 2006 by Ingrid Reithaug and Tonje Holand, Darling Clementine has become one of Scandinavia’s most sought-after creative studios. The duo first gained international attention with their own stationery and homeware collection, sold in design stores and galleries worldwide. Their major breakthrough came in 2009 with the redesign of Norway’s iconic Diplom-Is character Eskimonika, a national design symbol.
For nearly two decades, Darling Clementine has been synonymous with bold, emotional design that shapes global brands - from H&M and Marks & Spencer to Godiva. Today, their focus lies on packaging, branding, and illustration projects defined by clarity, warmth, and narrative depth. Their work is aesthetically refined, intelligent, and charming- always with a distinctive personal touch.
