Fideli Sundqvist is considered one of Scandinavia’s most exciting paper artists - an illustrator and graphic designer from Uppsala whose works are created with meticulous handcraft. From an early age, music and visual culture shaped her understanding of design. Album covers fascinated her in particular, and a linoleum-cut motif became a key moment that opened new artistic perspectives. After finishing school, Fideli moved to Stockholm, studying first at Nyckelviksskolan and later at the renowned Konstfack. In 2011, she graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.
During this time, she discovered her passion for paper as a material: first through delicate silhouette cuttings, later through complex three-dimensional paper objects that she builds and photographs. Her work thrives on the interplay of light and shadow, on precision and poetic ease. The transformation from two-dimensional silhouettes to immersive 3D worlds has become her unmistakable signature.
