Designer, publisher of illustration bible FREISTIL and GoSee friend for many years, Raban Ruddigkeit, operates his studio together with French designer Lea Brousse under the name of Brousse & Ruddigkeit. Last year, their weekly visual column in Der Tagesspiegel won the Illustration of the Year award from the Lead Academy, and the calendars Typodarium and Poladarium are published by Raban and Lars Harmsen. In 2017, the first Berlin Design Digest was published by Raban together with Robert Eysoldt from Slanted Publishers. Raban is supporting the GoSeeAWARDS this year as a jury member. Through the end of August, photographers, stylists and illustrators can submit their works free of charge. Winners will be announced at UPDATE17on 6 October in Berlin and here on GoSee.
That same evening, the exhibition 'Graphic Comments' opens its doors in the heart of Berlin, presenting a selection of the GRAPHIC COMMENTS on 350 square meters published every Sunday since 2015 in the CAUSA section of the supraregional daily newspaper DER TAGESSPIEGEL. The idea for the visual column came about in spring 2015, when the refugee debate sparked public interest and designers Lea Brousse & Raban Ruddigkeit published a first graphic commentary on social networks.
The motif was taken up by the DER TAGESSPIEGEL, marking the beginning of a collaboration in which the purpose of the graphic is not to merely illustrate a text, but instead, to illuminate a topic from different perspectives by different authors who freely and independently comment using graphics.
Since then, more than 100 GRAPHIC COMMENTS have emerged, a selection of which will soon be on display in the gallery NEUROTITAN. Without the texts, the Graphic Comments are subject to individual interpretation beyond the publication date.

Brousse & Ruddigkeit is a French-German design studio founded 2015 in Berlin. Lea Brousse and Raban Ruddigkeit work as conceptors, graphic designers, and illustrators. Together they build a concept for corporate design which allows a brand to be more flexible, media-neutral, and – above all – open. Their code-design is based on thinking without logos, but with elements which are simple, recognizable, and very dynamic.
Lea Brousse and Raban Ruddigkeit also work as editors and designers for successful international publications like Typodarium, Photodarium (both with editor Lars Harmsen), Freistil – The Book of Illustrators and Berlin Design Digest (together with editor Robert Eysoldt). Brousse & Ruddigkeit’s Graphic Comments for the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel received the award Illustration of the Year from the Visual Lead Academy in 2016.
Lea Brousse was born in Provence, France in 1984. In 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology GCEA level. She moved to Venice, and in 2009, she obtained a Master’s degree in Product Industrial Design from the University of Architecture IUAV. Afterwards, she worked as a designer for Teodolinda (Venice), Glow (Berlin) and many others. From 2012 to 2014, she was Lead Designer at Zafin (North America). She also works as an illustrator, published the book Ficktogram and is living in Berlin.

In 2012, his atelier received the Rookie Agency of the Year award from Art Directors Club and KfW Banking Group. In 2013, he published his first monograph titled Rapport.
