Raban Ruddigkeit and Verlag Hermann Schmidt Mainz produce Freistil – Best Of German Commercial Illustration 2014. Appeal to all illustrators, paper artists and graphic designers on GoSee! Don’t be shy, show us your illustrated artwork!

Illustration as part of graphic design, advertisement, magazine and book design etc. has become an important part of our media landscape. New techniques, new media and new names enrich the scene. Freistil has been following these developments for over 10 years and now accept submissions for their new book, which will come out in 2014, published by Hermann Schmidt Mainz publishing house. Publisher Raban Ruddigkeit demands: ‘it’s time for an up-to-date overview!’ and he’s looking for fresh talent right here on GoSee.

‘Freistil signifies variety. Be it rendered or crocheted, whether computer-based or hand-made, whether it’s personal work or a commissioned piece - Freistil allows everything that is convincing. Stylistically open and committed to quality alone, Freistil is not only a contemporary catalogue of German illustration, but a book that will be creatively produced, so that you can enjoy flipping through it over and over again.’

A renowned panel of judges will view the submitted work and decide on its publication. The panel is made up of Jana Schnell (der Freitag), Till Monshausen (Oliver Voss advertising agency), Lars Harmsen (Slanted magazine and web blog), Bertram Schmidt-Friderichs (Verlag Hermann Schmidt Mainz) and Raban Ruddigkeit (Freistil and Freistil-online.de).

Hermann Schmidt Mainz publishing house will produce the book with the highest typographic quality and bookbinding sophistication. And they will ensure that the most important contacts in advertising, design and media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will see the work.

You can submit your work until 17 February 2014. One double page per e-mail to raban@freistil-online.com. The participation fee includes a personal copy of the book.
