Interior stylist Dennis VALENCIA c/o AGENT BAUER skillfully placed the artwork of Nathalia Edenmont right next to the artist for the official IKEA PR motif. The butterfly picture of the native Russian, who has made Stockholm her new home, is part of the IKEA Art Event 2016. Nathalia Edenmont needed almost eight months to complete her work titled "natural Power". Eight months, in which she glued butterfly wings exactly onto the right spot of a white cardboard canvas. Finally, she photographed the results with her large-format camera. “Many of the butterflies had been laying in boxes for half a century. Through my art, I bring them back to life and make them immortal,” says Nathalia.
This April, IKEA presents with its ART EVENT 2016 a limited poster series, 11 pictures by 11 contemporary artists from all over the world. By doing so, IKEA is transformed for a few weeks this spring into the possibly largest gallery in the world, making art available to everyone – all, of course, at a great price. Henrik Most, Creative Director of IKEA Sweden, tells us: “The IKEA Art Event makes great art available to everyone. Everyone should have the chance to design their home individually and to integrate art as a natural element. We want to offer works of art that are unique and at the same time affordable."
