Mona el MANSOURI directed the commercial for JÄGERMEISTER. She was born in 1965 in Cairo and is the daughter of an Egyptian father and a Czech mother. She went to school in Munich and then studied Communication at the Academy of Marketing in Berlin.
After working as a styling assistant for Cosmopolitan she pursued a career in advertising. Mona earned a living copywriting for various German advertising agencies before gaining experience as an assistant director for film and commercial work alongside directors such as Jean Paul Seaulieu, Detlev Buck, Sönke Wortmann, Niko Caro and Roman Kuhn. Since 1997 she has been directing herself and is now represented in Europe and America.
The German herb liquor with stag logo celebrates the close relationship between modern men in their new commercial – whether it’s during an Oscar award, meeting or family dinner... If you hear the call, you can’t help but obey. The advertising spot is the beginning of a story in several parts that Hamburg based creative agency Philipp und Keuntje created for Jägermeister.
The advertising agency from Hamburg comments on the ad: ‘this marks the beginning of Jägermeister using real experiences as a focal point. The new spot illustrates the new brand identity situated between urbanity and nature, in which a real stag embodies the brand’s myth. Thus Jägermeister extends its ‘territory’ and now appeals not only to party people but also to sophisticated connoisseurs aged 30 and over’.
Mona also created the international look for mobile phone service provider BAKCELL. And British football club Manchester United has just announced a three-year contract with the telecommunications provider from Azerbaijan. Bakcell is now able to exclusively broadcast the TV channel MUTV at home and offers their subscribers equally exclusive access to various football club information.
CINEMA now: producer Oliver Berben already secured the film rights to Charlotte Roche’s novel ‘Schoßgebete’ in late 2011. Now the cast members for the comedy film directed by Sönke Wortmann have been announced: Lavinia Wilson (LULU & JIMI, ‘Rosa Roth’) will be starring as the protagonist ‘Elizabeth Kiel’ and Jürgen Vogel will play the role of her husband ‘Georg’. Juliane Köhler (‘Klimawechsel’, DAS BLAUE VOM HIMMEL) will act out the third main character, therapist ‘Dr. Drescher’. DOP Maher MALEH c/o DBC is in charge of creating the perfect look.
Oliver Berben on the film: ‘now that we have decided on the main cast, this extreme production is ready to roll. These three actors perfectly embody the characters described by Charlotte Roche in her novel and it’s a joy to breathe life into this extraordinary story with the help of Lavinia Wilson, Jürgen Vogel and Juliane Köhler.’
Charlotte Roche, former VIVA, 3sat and ZDF presenter, published ‘Schoßgebete’ following her first novel ‘Wetlands’, which caused quite a bit of controversy. Both books immediately went to the top of the best-seller list. SCHOSSGEBETE tells the story of three normal days in the life of Elizabeth Kiehl: raising the kids, organic food and therapy are as much a part of her everyday routine as visiting a brothel with her husband. This young thirty-something is highly neurotic, constantly worried and scared of everything – apart from sex… And that’s why sex is so important to her. She doesn’t just want to be the perfect mother but also the perfect wife and lover. SCHOSSGEBETE is radically open, confident and full of dark humour. It’s the portrait of a vulnerable young woman who tries to fulfil her roles without losing her mind.
Charlotte Roche on the cast: ‘when I heard that Lavinia Wilson wanted to play Elizabeth Kiehl I was over the moon. I love it. Jürgen Vogel and Juliane Köhler are also a perfect choice for the other main characters. I’m really looking forward to the film’. Producer and director of Constantin Film Production Oliver Berben has written the screenplay himself for the first time for SCHOSSGEBETE. Sönke Wortmann will be the director. Executive producer is Martin Moszkowicz, managing director of film & television for Constantin Film AG. Filming will start in spring 2013. SCHOSSGEBETE will be distributed by Constantin Film and out in cinemas from 3 October 2013.
