COMMON ERA presents 'Birduals' on GoSee – a collaboration between Serial Cut and still life expert Paloma Rincón, presenting stuffed birds in a graphical surrounding. "The animals depict the duality of life and death. Their bright feathers and proud poses reveal an unreal sense of vitality and lightness, whereas the copper portion, a consequence of trespassing the golden ring, shows a static figure evoking a heavy copper statue. The three stuffed animals used in this project died of natural causes and were handled with love and care,"the photographer says about her latest project, which was published by DLTD-SCENES.
'I am a Madrid-based photographer working worldwide, from commercial assignments for big companies to more experimental and personal projects. My images showcase interesting worlds where different languages blend together inside fine and detailed graphic compositions. With an accurate use of technique, my dynamic still lifes play with reality, where the beauty of handcraft recovers its magic. '
Paloma Rincón was commissioned to realize a new beverage brand from COCA-COLA on the Spanish market: ROYAL BLISS. The drink went into production after a two-year test phase, especially in Spain. We have the refreshing result for you here on GoSee.
Plus she photographed a motif for the popular Festival OFFF. “It was a honor to be invited to collaborate in OFFF´s Let´s Feed the Future Annual Book among many talented artists from around the world. The proposal was to create a key visual representing my first safe shelter, my mother´s womb, and reinterpret this memory. My mother´s belly is the place where my heart first started to beat. In this piece, I wanted to recreate an abstraction of that inner landscape full of textures, liquid and organic shapes in a more graphic way. For this purpose, I explored an ancient bookbinding technique, paper marbling, which is linked to my family business related to book publishing. The image background is then composed out of floating paint making patterns,” the photographer telss us about the collaboration.

COMMON ERA brings you here on GoSee the campaign created with lots of love by Marc Da Cunha Lopes for DDB Paris: "In the World of Play-Doh… nothing is impossible! Marc Da Cunha Lopes has just finished a project of epic proportions with a team of incredible clay model makers. Commissioned by DDB Paris, the campaign has messages for both parents and children, touching on the subjects of nature and tolerance. 'We wanted to show that imagination is limitless. That’s why we made everything for real. The fact that there are rough edges creates more emotion.' The first visual, showing the ogre and school girl, took four months of work to complete. There are 15,000 blades of grass alone, each sculpted by hand. Even photographing the first set took at least 11 hours of preparation and installation in the studio. The second and third visuals were no less intensive, requiring another six months of work. The giraffe is one metre tall made of more than 500 pieces, and the characters of the birthday scene bring together more than 10,000 elements. All in all, an amazing amount of creativity and effort went into these images. Model making by Natacha Olive de Cherisey, Emmanuel Courteau, Rémi Picard, Marion Dervaux..."
