Im Juni eröffnete die Galerie Daniel Buchholz Köln mit einer Doppelausstellung in beiden Kölner Galerien. Gezeigt werden die Arbeiten "10M/1000 ML/10 L" von  Cheyney Thompson in der Neven-DuMont-Straße 17 (s. GoSee Film) und "International Corrosion Fatigue" von Sam Lewitt in der Elisenstraße 4-6, ebenfalls in Köln. Ein hochkarätiges Warm-up bevor es fast nahtlos über zur Art Basel geht.
Dort freuen wir uns auf "Pavilionesque", die erste Schweizer Einzelausstellung der polnischen Künstlerin Paulina Olowska in der Kunsthalle Basel. Paulina Olowska (geb. 1976 in Gedansk, Polen) lebt und arbeitet in Raba Nizna, Poland. Die Ausstellung besteht im wesentlichen aus einer lebensgrossen Skizze eines hölzernen Pavillions als Ort für Performances sowie für  Präsentationen ihrer neu produzierte Arbeiten wie Malereien, Keramiken, Skulpturen und Puppen.
Die Idee hinter ihrem Ausstellungskonzept ist ein lebensgrosses Puppentheater das somit für jeden begeh- und somit erfahrbar wird. Zeitgleich und bereits zur Kölner Eröffnung erschien ihr aktuelles Buch - wir zeigen es Euch hier auf GoSee als klassischen Blätterfilm sowie erste Seiten aus dem Buch. Ausserdem einen virtuellen Rundgang durch die Neven-DuMont-Straße 17 plus Fotos des After-Opening-After-Works im Kölner marsil.
About the book - In her paintings, collages, and knitted works, Olowska incorporates text and graphics from found illustrations or images that have a decidedly "behind the Iron Curtain" look, while paying tribute to American Pattern and Decoration art of the 1970s and its use of non-traditional contemporary art mediums such as tiles and textiles. This publication is the first monograph to offer an overview of her work. It includes an interview with Adam Szymczyk and an essay by Jan Verwoert.
Olowska, who lives and works in the Polish countryside, has had recent one-person and project exhibitions at MoMA, New York (2011),Tramway, Glasgow (2010); Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich (2009); DAAD Galerie, Berlin (2008); and Portikus, Frankfurt (2007). Published in collaboration with Kunsthalle Basel.
