'We are thrilled to share more details of our collaboration with renowned Danish illustrator Mads Berg. As part of our celebratory year, designer Mads Berg, widely known for his modern Art Deco-inspired style, has created a series of illustrations of our most iconic designs. The 600 limited edition prints, numbered and signed by the artist, feature six design icons by BoConcept: the Imola armchair, Charlotte chair, Amsterdam sofa, Madrid tables, Kingston table & Princeton chair, Cupertino desk & Ottawa chair.'
'I compose with a direct light source, in order to build dynamics into the images and to highlight the bold shapes of the objects. Characters activate the scenes and provide elegance and relevance,' so Mads.
'Art Deco is one of my main influences, but there’s actually more to it than that. It’s one of my sources of inspiration, alongside other styles such as Art Nouveau and Futurism. What I really appreciate about Nordic furniture design is the fact that it’s driven by simplicity and functionality, that every element is there for a reason. Of course, you can also have some details that are only there for decoration purposes, and that’s actually what Art Deco is mainly about. By blending these two worlds together, that’s when the magic happens.'
