'This is My Kingdom Now' by singer Justin Currie - album artwork by Armando FERRARI c/o COMMON ERA

On the west coast of Scotland, Armando FERRARI photographed the album artwork for Justin Currie’s new release, “This is My Kingdom Now”. The singer’s third album is also marked by Curries striking voice, a melancholic basic mood and his knack for unconventional love song lyrics. We have the unconventional portraits here on GoSee.

“A thoughtful but raw intensity and cinematic gaze runs through Armando’s work, which is always executed with form and a sense of beauty in mind. His images are both graphic and complex. With a fundamental understanding of light, Armando works across genres, from automotive to portraiture, sport and reportage,” the agency tells us about the photographer, who photographs for clients such as Nike, Under Armour, Evonik, Umbro, Surface Magazine, Glenlivet, BBC, Dazed, New Statesman, New Scientist, Sourz-MTV. Several more works from Armando are available via COMMON ERA.

About common era

common era is an agency that represents a handful of carefully curated visual artists. Photography and image making is our passion — we strive to forge lasting relationships with both our artists and our clients. Along the way, we pride ourselves on strategic representation and career development for our roster while providing full-service support to our clients.

We produce all shoots either in-house or in partnership with trusted local producers depending on the requirements of the job. Our goal is to make sure that everyone goes home happy. By operating on a project-by-project model we can scale up production support as needed and by tapping into our network of global suppliers we ensure a smooth shoot regardless of the location.

We’ve shot cars in sub-zero temperatures in the Austrian Alps, photographed aristocracy in an impressive country estate, snapped celebrities on the streets of London, and even learned the secret behind creating an indoor BBQ without setting off the fire alarm. No project is too big or too small.
