Angelika BÜTTNER c/o KOMBINATROTWEISS photographed homage to Rene Gruau, fine-polished in the post-production by the experienced post-producer. The photo story is a visual ode to an old master, whose imagination gave birth to a plethora of posters as well as fashion and cosmetic drawings.
The self-taught artist, whose idols included the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec, already had the talent to conjure seemingly simple and at the same time complex figures onto paper as a young boy.
His classic works include an advert for the 'Rouge Baiser' lipstick (in the 1950s), which he captured by means of lines and black & red accents – a female face, the eyes of which are hidden behind a black blindfold with red puckered lips.
Patrick Buchner captured the beauty of Iceland in a fashion series. Stephanie WENCEK took care of the post-production.
