Beautiful new illustrations by Lina Ekstrand for the onboard magazine of private jet company NetJets - showcasing her unmistakable blend of expressive detail, elegance, and a touch of playful lightness.
The article, titled “Spices,” explores the fascinating history and cultural significance of the world’s most famous spices - from their medicinal origins to their role as a symbol of trade, pleasure, and sensuality. Lina’s floral and botanically inspired artworks accompany the story with poetic compositions that translate scent, color, and movement into a vivid visual experience.
Based in Sweden, the artist and illustrator combines traditional, hand-drawn techniques with a refined sense of composition and symbolism. After graduating from the Design School Denmark in 2003, she launched her international career as a freelance illustrator.
Working mainly with pencil, ink, and watercolor, Lina’s style has evolved over the years into a free, dynamic visual language defined by bold colors and fluid forms. Influenced by cinema – particularly the films of Bernardo Bertolucci – her work often features narrative, symbolic details reminiscent of 1920s Paris.
lf as one of the most intriguing voices in contemporary illustration.
