Kontra K, born on 3 July, 1987, in Berlin as Maximilian Diehn, is a German rapper, and a kickboxer as a side job, who is under contract with the label BMG. In 2019, the musician already released his eighth album with the wonderful title “They wanted water but are getting gasoline”, which made it to the top of the German album charts. Maximilian MOTEL c/o SEVERIN WENDELER portrayed comedian, TV screenwriter and presenter Aurel Mertz for funk by ARD & ZDF. Born and raised in Stuttgart, Aurel Mertz first moved to Vienna and then to Istanbul to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Communication Sciences. He was discovered by Frank Elstner and the Axel Springer Akademie following an internship for television and then trained as a journalistic presenter in the Frank Elstner Masterclass.
He has worked for broadcasters including ProSieben as a presenter (Risky Quiz) and a screenwriter (LateNightBerlin), appears on stage as a stand-up comedian (Nightwash etc) and has played acting roles in feature films and series (e.g. Dit is Fussball, Wuff, Am Ende Legenden).
