A common ingredient of many cosmetic products, such as skin creams, masks or serums, is hyaluronic acid, or hyaluron for short. Applied externally, hyaluron is incapable of penetrating deeper layers of skin. This, of course, decreases its efficacy. However, injected directly into the different layers of the skin, hyaluronic acid leads to a more evenly proportioned appearance – a result which is visible for several months.
