Part of the the new global timepieces brochure for the client MONTBLANC was shot by SOLOMON I WINTER in London with Mark Sanders c/o Darling Creative. For the 1858 collection, they took it atop a glacier with Swiss photographer Cyrill Matter c/o Rene Hauser where the team photographed under extreme conditions at temperatures below zero.
Creation was in the hands of Hamburg-based freelance Creative Director Jan Lohse, and casting as well as art production from A to Z was also taken care of by SOLOMON I WINTER.
In the 1920s and 1930s, the Minerva Manufacture produced several watch models designed particularly for mountain exploration and military use. These watches were highly accurate, legible and robust for use in extreme conditions but, of course, also beautiful to look at. Which is why it is no surprise Montblanc drew inspiration from these legendary watches for the 1858 collection.
