Michael Brunn c/o STILLSTARS has created a new series for the Japanese cult brand MUJI that perfectly captures the essence of the label: reduced design, clean shapes and a quiet elegance that speaks for itself. "A little of everything and never too much" – this Japanese proverb could not be more fitting for MUJI. Since its founding, the brand has stayed true to the same principles: pure materials, functional design and products that step back to seamlessly integrate into everyday life.
For the current production, Michael Brunn staged MUJI’s objects in an environment that is as minimalist as it is atmospheric. With precise lighting, subtle set design and a refined sense of materiality, he not only makes the products shine – he gives them a calm, almost poetic presence. The combination of MUJI’s timeless aesthetic and Brunn’s clear photographic vision results in images that feel like visual meditation: serene, focused and rich in delicate details.
