Palmanova is in the municipality of Calvià and located in the bay of Palma, circa 15km west of the captital. Like many destinations in the western bay of Palma, Palmanova is visited by many British tourists. To the east is the town of Portals Nous, a meeting place of rich and famous vacationers with mostly upscale tourist attractions in seaside resorts along the coast. Located nearby Palmanova are the two beaches Platja of Carregador and Platja Son Maties, connected by a long beach promenade.
