"Haute Frequency is a personal visual project I developed with Sophie Arama, a French singer and performer with a background in operatic singing.
The project explores the relationship between the voice, the body, and movement. Rather than simply filming a musical performance, I wanted to translate the physical sensation of Sophie’s voice into images—making sound almost visible through movement, gesture, light, and rhythm.
The visual approach is cinematic and intimate, with a strong focus on natural, poetic light and the physicality of the body. The camera reacts to Sophie’s movements, creating a dialogue between performance and image. The project sits somewhere between a music film, a portrait, and contemporary dance, with photography developed alongside the moving image." — Yoann Stoeckel, Photographer.
Sophie Arama received her professional training between 2015 and 2019 at the Conservatoire Hector Berlioz in Paris. She breaks down the traditional barriers of classical music by combining operatic singing with urban genres and contemporary art. Her projects include collaborations such as 'Opera x Freestyle Hip-Hop,' as well as conceptual performances centered on the theme of artificial intelligence.
In addition to her soprano voice, she is trained in dance and performance. She is also highly active in sports (yoga, running, marathons), which she integrates closely into her physical stage work. For her acting projects, she is represented by the agency Cinémacorp.
Yoann Stoeckel is represented by the agency ANDREA HEBERGER.
