For MERCEDES-BENZ CLASSIC magazine, Alexander BABIC c/o DOUBLE T PHOTOGRAPHERS portrayed legendary designer Bruno Sacco (born on 12 November, 1933, in Udine as the son of an Italian father and Austrian mother), who not only developed the design philosophy of Mercedes-Benz in the 1970s but was also responsible for designing numerous Mercedes-Benz models over the course of several decades.
The essence of his philosophy in a nutshell: A Mercedes-Benz must be recognized intuitively as a member of the family by people in all cultural environments of the world. And when a Mercedes-Benz is developed in the next model generation, the identity of the model series must be maintained. Sacco spoke of vertical affinity. It was considered the central theme of the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy and was intended to guarantee that the predecessor would not seem outdated upon presentation of the new model generation.
