Johann COHRS c/o BIRGIT STÖVER ARTISTS was commissioned by SYNDICATE DESIGN AG to photograph new motifs for Germany’s best-known brand of air freshener IPURO. Instead of photographing the plants, whose natural aromas are the ingredients of the fragrances, in classic reflected light, Johann Cohrs placed them in front of an X-ray apparatus. By doing so, each photo achieves its very own complexity; this simplifies the wonder of nature and reduces it to its essential components. Delicate, sensual, aesthetic and focused graphically on one plane.
