2,000 km in 8 days. Driving the Defender through the breathtaking wilderness of Namibia. And all of this is no problem: the Land Rover Defender was specifically designed for extreme terrain and expeditions. Photographer Oliver Vonberg accompanied the tour with his camera.
The "Defender Experience Namibia" is a multi-day expedition (often around 2,000 km) that leads through places like Etosha National Park.
"Professional, ambitious, and extremely experienced. Our instructors not only know how to get the most out of our vehicles, but also how to convey this knowledge clearly and understandably to help you achieve peak performance." Land Rover Defender
The official Defender Experience Namibia is an exclusive self-drive safari where you explore the most remote corners of the country in a guided convoy. Included: Land Rover Defender, accommodations (lodges/camps), meals, experienced instructors, and technical support.
The Land Rover Experience Namibia was officially launched in 2019. While similar tours had previously existed in the region, the current format premiered with the introduction of the new Defender. Namibia has since become one of the premier expedition destinations for Land Rovers in Africa, with annual tours offered during the dry season.
Prior to the official market launch of the new Defender in 2020, prototypes of the vehicle underwent over 1.2 million kilometers of testing in Namibia to ensure its off-road capabilities in the desert.
The tours are in high demand and are usually booked well in advance. Prices start at approximately €10,800 per person (based on double occupancy of a vehicle).
