Driving the Giulia and Stelvio along the Amalfi Coast – and switching to the wheel of a 1950s Giulietta along the way: Alfa Romeo is the automotive partner of the “Anantara Grand Tour of Europe”. The new travel concept by Anantara Hotels & Resorts revives the legendary Grand Tours of the 18th century, combining European culture, exceptional hotels and some of the continent’s most beautiful roads with Italian driving culture.

At the heart of the experience are the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, taking guests from one Anantara hotel to the next. The journey itself is very much part of the experience: winding coastal roads, historic cities, architecture and spectacular landscapes replace the conventional transfer from A to B.

And for Alfisti, things get even more interesting: selected stages can also be experienced behind the wheel of historic Alfa Romeos. Among them is a 1950s Giulietta – an icon of Italian Gran Turismo and an almost perfect automotive embodiment of La Dolce Vita.

Dolce Vita to Kick Things Off

The journey begins in September 2026 with the three-day “Dolce Vita Tour”. Starting at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel in Rome, the route winds through the hills of the Castelli Romani towards Ravello before continuing along the spectacular roads of the Amalfi Coast to the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel. The first Grand Tour thus combines Italian landscapes and driving culture with two exceptional hotels – making not only the destination, but above all the journey itself, part of the experience.

The Grand Tour Continues in 2027

In 2027, the “Anantara Grand Tour of Europe” will expand with further routes. Plans include journeys across spectacular Alpine passes and Mediterranean roads, as well as a culture-focused route connecting Vienna and Budapest – from the Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna to the Anantara New York Palace Budapest.

“With this new partnership, we celebrate the authentic essence of Alfa Romeo: driving pleasure, emotion and sportiness,” says Eugenio Franzetti, Head of Global Marketing Alfa Romeo. Whether behind the wheel of a current Giulia or Stelvio or a historic Alfa Romeo, the tour is designed to combine performance, style and passion with the experience of discovering Europe.

Anantara is part of the international hospitality group Minor Hotels. The luxury brand places a strong emphasis on each destination and its culture, history and architecture. The “Grand Tour of Europe” now extends this philosophy to the journey between its hotels: it’s not only where you arrive that matters, but how you get there. More information via Stellantis.
