Director Pat HOLDEN drew on his feature film experience to create a very emotional trailer for part 6 of the popular game series RESIDENT EVIL, entitled ‘No hope left’. The end of the world seems one step closer …
Resident Evil is a series of video games created by Shinji Mikami and published by Japanese software company Capcom. The series is known as Biohazard in Japan. Resident Evil is said to be the epitome of so-called survival horror, even though the game wasn’t the first in this particular genre.
The game promotion in London even went one step further: a butcher in London advertised real human flesh in their shop window. The flesh was allegedly sourced from recently deceased casualties. The very realistic looking ‘human flesh’ was suitable for eating though, as it was only made from ham and aspic.
A pretty ‘breathtaking’ marketing idea that didn’t miss the mark: the event got the strictly non-vegetarian Resident Evil fan base very excited. And the icing on the cake (or on the meat): a butcher selling the human flesh was really missing an arm – and the arm that was lying in front of him on the table made it seem all the more realistic. Capcom is donating all proceeds from the human meat market to a charity helping amputees.
ARIEL and Saatchi & Saatchi London have produced a very successful commercial spot for the pan-European campaign for new ARIEL with ‘double stain-fighting power’. The ad is moving away from the usual 100,000 percent better washing power cliché and instead looks at people and the sometimes very special relationships they have with their clothes. Perfectly illustrated here by the poor wife of an enviably happy golfer. Nick JONES directed the colourful commercial.
