"Paloma RINCON c/o COMMON ERA created this series (inspired by a love story cut short) for her workshop at Madrid Photo Fest using a combination of flowers frozen in liquid nitrogen and some fancy high speed photography," COMMON ERA introduces the latest work by Paloma on GoSee, which was created during a workshop: "Broken Heart. A series about a truncated love story. I shot this image for my workshop at @madridphotofest combining high-speed photography with frozen flowers in liquid nitrogen. It was possible thanks to a great team at the festival organization that helped me use this technique that I was willing to explore. We used laser sensors to coordinate the exact moment when the flowers exploded with the camera and the flash with the support of the amazing @phaseonephoto team."
The photographer who commutes between Madrid and London on her work: "I create visual games in the intersection where photography meets sculpture, design, installation or illustration. With a playful and contemporary aesthetic approach, the resulting images showcase interesting worlds where shapes, textures, materials, lights and color blend together living in harmony inside fine, rich, and detailed graphic compositions. My quirky images are marked by bold colors, graphic compositions and unexpected juxtapositions. The virtual and the real worlds integrate in a totally natural fashion erasing the boundaries of tactile and digital. My dynamic still life photographies combine an accurate use of technique and the creativity of a craftsman."
