Jeans, wool, knitwear and even kimonos... This fall really has it all! For the F/W 2016/17 collection from VERO MODA, ASA ALLGARD photographed models Josephine Skriver and Caroline Brasch Nielsen. Styling was done by Mathilde Storm, the CD was Kim Greena, Production: Jacob Petersen, make-up: Lisa Legrand, hair: Martyn Foss Calder.

Norwegian label KATRIN URI celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016. The new 'Roots' collection was staged by fashion photographer ASA TALLGARD with model Lise Bjørgen Olsen in California. The label presents two collections every year, and Mette Katrine Kaldhussæter, Head of Design & Production Katrin Uri, describes them like this: “...includes every garment a stylish woman needs for her wardrobe.” Since they only sell their fashion in Norway at the moment, you have to pay the beautiful country a visit if you want to call one the wonderful items from Katrin Uri your own. We took the opportunity for a GoSee Mini Quest with mastermind Mette Katrine Kaldhussæter:

Who is KATRIN URI, who is the founder? That is me, I founded the brand some 25 years ago. Katrin is my second name, and Uri is my mother's last name.

What was the idea behind shooting in Los Angeles? I originally wanted to shoot in Africa this time. But my daughter lives in LA, and she showed me pictures of Joshua Tree and Palms Inn, and I got amused by the landscape and nature. This was the first time I went to California for a photo shoot.

Why “Roots” ? When we made the collection, we reviewed our company hallmark and had a desire to strengthen and promote our base philosophy. The label is inspired by nature and the colors of nature. The collection is feminine but inspired by masculine details. We always enjoy playing with prints and patterns, which are also sorts of 'roots'...

Where do you produce normally? My favorite job is to do the catalogs twice a year. I have a fantastic team that I work with, which has known the company for many years, and we develop the look together. Sometimes I do the photo shoot in a studio, have been in private homes which are very artistic and different, and I have been in closed down factories and power stations, ... Last year we went to Paris where the company was founded. The name of the collection then was “Heritage”.

How important are the visuals to you as a designer? The visuals are extremely important to me, and making a nice catalog will inspire the shop owners and consumers how to style. I also love to hand over the collection to a stylist, who will see the collection from a different angle.

What will next season bring? The collection for spring 2017 is named “Grateful”. I am grateful every day for being able to do what I love. One of the first fabrics we selected was a floral print which reminded me of Monet’s garden. The feeling of resting in these beautiful fields, and letting life be just as it is.

Your favorite shoot destination you have never gone to so far? I would love to shoot in those really old castles in the British countryside, with a full crew of staff who is working at the castle. That would be a great place to shoot F/W 2017.
