“For Hennessy Cognac, I visited Julien Colombier while he was working in his studio. Julien painted a picture over the course of three days which was later used for the packaging design of VSOP Hennessy Cognac. I had the pleasure of watching Julien painting and photographing during these three days.
Always a bit difficult because you are very close together in a small space with someone who is not necessarily used to it. You try to get in the way as little as possible, watch what’s going on, and then you have to have perfect timing to take the photo you’ve been waiting for before the moment is gone. It takes time, the trust of the artist and, of course, the client.

Der 1972 geborene Julien Colombier lebt und arbeitet in Paris. Als autodidaktischer Maler arbeitet er hauptsächlich mit Acryl- und Ölpastellfarben. Er ist stark beeinflusst von der Welt der Graffiti, japanischer Kunst, Matisse und Keith Haring. Seine künstlerische Welt ist traumhaft, magisch und verstörend zugleich. Sie ist voller Dschungel und bunter Tropenwälder wobei der Künstler seine Muster auf obsessive Weise wiederholt und so seine hypnotisch-organische, ganz eigene Welt erschafft. Julien arbeitet regelmäßig mit grossen Marken wie Cartier 2015 oder Chanel zusammen.
