Die Berliner Illustratorin Josephine Rais entwickelte die visuelle Welt für das Pilotprojekt „Women Do Science“ von Casio Education Germany in Nordrhein-Westfalen und porträtierte dafür fünf Frauen aus Wissenschaft und Technologie.
Ziel des Projekts ist es, weibliche Vorbilder in den MINT-Fächern sichtbarer zu machen und insbesondere Mädchen für eine berufliche Zukunft in Wissenschaft und Technik zu begeistern. Die Illustrationen erscheinen sowohl auf Casio-Taschenrechnern als auch in der visuellen Kommunikation der Initiative.
Josephine Rais’ Arbeit reicht dabei weit über den klassischen Editorial-Kontext hinaus: Für Breuninger war sie Teil des farbenfrohen Konzepts Fashion x Food.
Im Rahmen des Bundesliga-Projekts Common Ground verwandelte sie außerdem einen innerstädtischen Fußballplatz in Berlin. Ideen von Kindern aus der Nachbarschaft flossen direkt in die Gestaltung ein. Josephine verband natürliche Elemente mit urbanen Symbolen und übersetzte so deren Blick auf Berlin in ein großformatiges, farbenfrohes Spielfeld.
