Industry photographer Wolfram SCHROLL created a new image brochure for the Innovation Works sector for the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS).
Wolfram tells GoSee: ‘we were looking for interesting subjects and developed these in collaboration with scientists and engineers.
The three aeronautic principles – lighter, quieter, more efficient – provided us with our theme. This includes braiding carbon fibres as well as surfaces – and acoustics research. My job was to capture this in photographs.’
His work for the Outokumpu VDM image pool was similar in theme, but offered a completely different take.
Don’t be fooled by the archaic look of the work that’s being done – they actually melt ultra-modern high-grade steel such as titanium for jet engines.
‘It was very, very loud and extremely hot. I had to wear a spacy silver protective suit and literally had to approach these images with great caution.’ Sounds like the job suited him very well indeed.
