LINDE WERDELIN watches and Plaza Watch magazine commissioned photographer Zena HOLLOWAY to create an underwater ski image for their latest issue.

The pool water was convincingly transformed into a glacier and the surging bubbles bare a close resemblance to snow.

Zena on the sporty model: ‘our terrific model Freddy from Storm skied his way down the pool in complete style’.

Morten Linde and Jorn Werdelin founded Linde Werdelin in 2002. Her concept: ‘a highly crafted mechanical timepiece designed to carry a digital sports instrument to provide the right level of information at the right time for diving and skiing respectively’.

The result is an unbeatable combination of Danish design and Swiss craftsmanship.

Morten Linde comments on the watch concept, ‘analogue is the best way to read time; digital is how you assimilate technical details’. So the wonderful results aren’t crafted through a straightforward digital vs. analogue approach, but rather by a hand in hand, step by step and stage by stage method.

According to Linde Werdelin : ‘the ultimate sports timepiece for use with intelligent precision instruments to amplify the sporting experience whether high in the mountains or deep in the sea.’ So - Go & See : lindewerdelin.com

GQ Russia had a similarly challenging idea when it came to incorporating water into their December issue.

The five double pages immerse the reader in an ethereal series of different groups of people. And water certainly isn’t getting in the way of their activities.

Office workers typing away, party people living it up, feisty contemporaries battling it out, animal lovers enjoying each other’s company and positive people flying through the skies in search of light.

FYI everything and everyone was photographed underwater. The same goes for the three-year-old child, fascinated by the pull of the water and posed as if by magic on her back. Stylist Jo Philips supported Zena on the shoot.

In addition to this, GoSee presents a selection of images from a personal series by the London photographer.
