On visual magic, a fascination with intros, and leaving behind finger prints... more in an interview with director Tina Maria Werner, plus the SECRET.DE spot, MTMT Gym spot and the BMW installation at the Geneva Automobile Salon

Touch the audience and open up new worlds – this is the maxim of filmmaker Tina Maria Werner. Launching TMW, the successful commercial producer is fulfilling a lifelong dream by dedicating herself to directing, which she admits is her true passion. “The projects I direct captivate me and won´t let me go,” she says. “This fascination stays with me until the film is completed.”

The analytical viewpoint on the essence of her clients´ wishes, her sense for people and emotions and the focus on detail and its impact on the whole – these are the factors that influence Tina Maria Werner’s style as a director: “Each one of my films is personal to me, it’s got my signature all over it”, she explains.

Werner started her career with her studies at the renowned Munich University of Television and Film (HFF) and a diploma in Production and Media Business.

In the following years, she gained extensive radio and television experience, among others places, at prominent German TV stations such as SAT 1 and ZDF. This facilitated her founding the Music Division of Picture Planet GmbH in 1997, which she managed as a producer of music videos.

At the age of only 25, Tina Maria Werner started her own business by establishing her production company lucie_p GmbH in 1999. Utilizing her wide range of expertise in TV commercials, brand movies, media installations, 2D/3D visualisation and 3D video mapping, Tina Maria Werner eventually specialised in automotive industry. As CEO, she quickly turned lucie_p into one of the most sought-after suppliers for moving images in the car industry, while at the same time epitomizing one of the few female masterminds in this masculine domain.

In both of lucie_p´s business divisions, film production and media installations, the 41-year old and her team of specialists devise and produce major projects for national and international clients to be staged at global conventions and events. Her clients include BMW, MINI, Opel, Volkswagen, Skoda, Drive Now, Bosch, Vodafone, ThyssenKrupp, Raiffeisenbank, Degussa, KUK, Software AG and BurgerKing.

Beyond that, Tina Maria Werner took up an executive position as Creative Director in a joint venture with ARRI Commercial in 2011. With her fine-tuned sensitivity to the clients´ needs, she is responsible for strategic consultancy, corporate design and the visualisation of a variety of different projects.

'Polaroid' was the main focus of the media installation at the BMW booth at the 85th Geneva Automobile Salon, 2015. The underlying idea was to capture “moments of life and joy” of the target group of the new BMW 1 series and to visualize them emotionally in a multidimensional format. The dream of a film was made by director TINA MARIA WERNER in Porto. Her deliberately small team accompanied the actors for five days while they drove to the various but always picturesque places at the outermost corner of Europe. Moments of joy with the BMW 1 series were staged by director Tina Maria Werner in a genuine and realistic way... See for yourself.

At night, after all coaches have left the MTMT Gym, the equipment comes to life... the spot was handcrafted as a stop-motion film by Creative Director TINA MARIA WERNER. Frame after frame, she moved almost 200 exercise machines in the gym for each individual photo, shooting a total of 675 photos in 8 nights. Sounds, noises and the beat are also made by the exercise machines in the MTMT Gym and were recorded there. This was more than enough reason to submit this very special spot by director Tina Maria Werner to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

MTMT stands for "Method to Metabolic Turbulence". What sounds complicated is really quite simple: It's all based on the methodological process of transferring the body through training to a transient state of turbulence (metabolic turbulence) in order to increase performance and improve health during the subsequent rest period in the long run. In this way, the body reorganizes itself after each training session at the gym to become stronger after regenerating. mtmt-space.com
