Thomas Ternes photographed the FORD GT – a high-performance endurance racing car – in a dessert north of Los Angeles.
The Ford GT is a sports car of which 4038 vehicles were manufactured in total between 2004 and 2006. At NAIAS 2002, Ford introduced the GT40 Concept Car, as a new edition of the Le Mans race car Ford GT40, which was built from 1964 to 1968. The concept car was part of the Living Legends series, for which Ford revived models from the past such as the Thunderbird or the Mustang. Right on time for the 100th Anniversary of the brand in June 2003, the team developed a series model based on the GT40 Concept Car in only sixteen months.
"I photographed the Shelby Cobra in an airplane hanger in Los Angeles, with the same owner as the the Ford GT and therefore the same paint job. The market value of the Shelby is around 5 million euros," the photographer tells GoSee.
Thomas Ternes photographed a PORSCHE Carerra SC. The car belongs to a friend of mine who keeps on optimizing it. He photographed a patina coated CORVETTE STINGRAY in Malibu. "It's great how the salt water eats its way into the paint job."
