For the British fetish label Sasha Louise, Thomas Ternes photographed the latest capsule collection in Berlin. Lady Gaga, Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon as well Rhianna are all among the regular clientele of Sasha Louise. "We chose a dominatrix as model. Virginia Nox accepted our invitation, and we realized fashion photos and portraits with the handcrafted clothing," the photographer tells GoSee. Hair & make-up were taken care of by Anna Luft.
'In the 14th century babies in Herefordshire were baptized in cider, on the grounds that it was cleaner than water.' That’s my home town right there. Besides cider, it also has one of the best Art colleges, Hereford college of Arts. This is where I learned how to be free with my art, learned how to express myself. I gained a national diploma in Art and Design. I moved to London when I was 18 to attend London college of Fashion. I graduated from university at 21 with a degree in Fashion Design Womenswear with technology. I started working for Kim West, which is where my latex career started. Experimenting with the material more and more, I invented my own fabric, Latex Net," says the designer.
Thomas Ternes made the unusual beauty spread entitled 'CET OBSCUR OBJET DU DÈSIR' happen together with Anna Luft. "I photographed the model in front of a simple, futuristic background. Then Anna positioned the final make-up on the printed out motifs. The repros come to life with the cast shadows, which makes the work more tangible," says the photographer.
