The French fashion brand Hartford is known worldwide for its understated "casual chic." The label masterfully balances Parisian elegance with relaxed American West Coast style.
Clouds, nature, relaxation... Théo Gosselin photographed Hartford's Summer 2026 campaign. The campaign offers no theatricality, no drama... on the contrary, it focuses on resetting, taking a break, and soothing serenity.
The label was founded in Paris in 1979 by Yves Chareton. His inspiration stemmed from his passion for classic American vintage clothing. His breakthrough came in New York: He tracked down leftover stocks of Oxford and chambray fabrics at a local manufacturer. From these, he created the first Hartford shirts with an authentic vintage character, a style previously unavailable on the European market.
Shortly thereafter, the design studio moved back to Paris, from where the brand expanded. The brand name itself is an homage to the city of Hartford in the US state of Connecticut. Today, Hartford is an icon of upscale leisurewear and is available in over 1,000 stores worldwide.
