Victor Jon GOICO is a new entry at GoSee. The Stuttgart based BFF photographer specialises in Transportation, People and Landscape. “These days I feel that it is important to cover more than one category, since a lot of projects often unite various categories and the classic approach simply doesn’t work anymore”, Victor comments when we ask him about his specialisms. And his website as well as his first report here on GoSee show that he manages to elegantly combine transportation with people photography.
He shot the MINI CLUBMAN Concept 214 in the studio. "200m2 of flooring, 120 shirts and 100 bowlers were used to create an art installation.” The studio was graced by a slightly surrealist touch a la Magritte. BMW Group commissioned Julia Obermeier for art direction and Wagnerchic for post-production. The car celebrated its world debut at the Geneva Auto Show 2014. 26 centimetres longer and 17 wider than the MINI Clubman, the
MINI Concept is sophisticated, cool and elegant.
The MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS concept celebrated its world debut at the North American International Auto Show 2014 in Detroit. Victor Jon GOICO was once again on charge of photography. Phillip Schlegel was the art director on set. GoSee Member RECOM carried out the post-production. The MINI umbrella brand is synonymous with a go-cart feeling thanks to technology borrowed from racing cars, paired with everyday use. The light grey tone of the car body lacquer in Bright Highways Grey is particularly special thanks to the hand finished layer sealed with clear varnish.
Victor Jon GOICO’s shoot with the CAYENNE GTS for Porsche customer magazine CHRISTOPHORUS shows just how skilled he is at on-location shoots. In Le Mans he photographed Porsche works driver and Le-Mans winner Romain Dumas, who drove the SUV over the legendary tracks in the pouring rain. GoSee presents the results. In his portfolio we have some impressions from his shoot for the PORSCHE PANAMERA HYBRID for CHRISTOPHORUS. And his immaculate images for THE ANATOMY OF THE PERFECT SUIT (HUGO BOSS book, 2013) show just how skilled he is at still life photography too.
Victor, born in 1984 in Stuttgart, got his melodic name from his Venezuelan father, who grew up in France and is likewise a photographer. His full name Goicoechea Dacal stems from the Spanish Basque region. Victor can also speak a total of three mother tongues – German, French and Spanish. In 2006 he first discovered his love of photography whilst working on a production as an intern for an advertising agency in Cape Town. Shortly after he began assisting photographers such as Michael Schnabel, Steffen Jahn and Patrick Penkwitt. In 2008 he graduated from Lazi Academy and has been freelancing for clients in the Automobile, Advertising and Editorial sectors ever since.
