NERGER M&O : Hamburg Dom editorial for ICON, interior design for stilwerk Strandhotel Blankenese and THE MADISON Hamburg, plus new entry Tobias MARCUS (Lifestyle, Fashion)

At the Hamburg DOM, Wolfgang STAHR c/o NERGER M&O photographed the cover story for ICON MAG. It is the largest fair in Northern Germany, attracting millions of visitors. The DOM has a variety of rides, food and beverage stands, game booths, and attractions. The tradition of the DOM dates back to the 11th century and has evolved over the years. Production and location scouting were managed by Axvisual Media, with editors Sara Krüger and Gabriele Thiels, and image editing by Elias Gröb.

NERGER M&O now represents an exciting photographer based in Hamburg and Cape Town. We present a fresh selection from the portfolio of Tobias MARCUS c/o NERGER M&O here on GoSee. For more information, feel free to contact Claudia Nerger directly.

VENICE BEACH Pro Line is the preferred brand of trainers, true fitness fans, and professionals alike. The campaign was photographed by Brita SÖNNICHSEN c/o NERGER M&O, featuring Amandine from McFit Models, Lisa Marie from m4 Models, and hair & makeup by Ina Mühlhaus.

From beer to bread: Berlin-based still life specialist Ragnar SCHMUCK c/o NERGER M&O presents a playful take on German stereotypes for the cover story of Goldschmiede Zeitung, perhaps one of the oldest trade magazines in publication for over 126 years.

According to its description, Goldschmiede-Zeitung (GZ) is, “the magazine for jewelry and watches,” and “the official organ of the Bavarian State Association for the Gold and Silversmith Trade.” The monthly periodical deals thematically with the trades of goldsmiths, silversmiths, watchmakers, and jewelers. Hanna Tembrink was in charge of art direction, with styling by Eva Jauss.

The interior of the boutique hotel, with 12 studios in the main building and three suites in the captain’s house, was carefully curated by stilwerk, fusing modern history and architectural finesse into one. The color palette, from dusty blue to sandy yellow, is inspired by the rugged surroundings, while natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship define the hotel’s interior concept.

The color-blocking look in different combinations for each hotel room creates a vibrant ambiance. After all, “Interior has to be fun, too,” says designer Karlotta Bott.

Photographer Brita SÖNNICHSEN c/o NERGER M&O shot the interior photos presented here, with styling by Yvonne Lindhorst.

The design hotel is a historic Art Nouveau villa in the elegant Blankenese district, 20 minutes from Hamburg city center: “The stilwerk Strandhotel on the banks of the Elbe in Blankenese has everything you need to take a moment to unwind. Conveniently nestled between bustling city life and serene seclusion, it is an inspiring place designed for your well-being. The listed villa from 1902 shines in clear white against the picturesque backdrop of the Blankenese Stairs District, an urban area that is unique in Hamburg with its Mediterranean flair, grand villas, and picturesque fishermen’s cottages,” we quote Stilwerk.

For more than 25 years, stilwerk has been shaping the interior design world in Germany as a platform for design, art, culture, and lifestyle. The credo of stilwerk is: “We curate inspiring spaces.” The concept skillfully combines design destinations in Düsseldorf and Hamburg with two boutique hotels in the Hanseatic city.

The first hotel – the stilwerk Hotel Heimhude, aka the ‘Grande Dame in Sneakers’ – opened in 2020 and is located in the heart of Hamburg’s city center: an Art Nouveau villa amid grand mansions that skillfully blends the unique charm of the historic building with an interior design collage fusing elements old and new.

The stilwerk Strandhotel Blankenese, aka the ‘Mysterious Lady in White’ – is another very special place in Hamburg: nestled directly on a natural beach by the Elbe River. A historic structure dating back to the early 20th century that has been revitalized in this new form.

Fancy something new? The restaurant of renowned hotel The Madison Hamburg has been redesigned. The new look was photographed by Brita SÖNNICHSEN c/o NERGER M&O on commission for the agency Gudberg Nerger.

The MADISON opened in 1993 and has since been counted among the best hotels in Germany. The 166 rooms and suites at THE MADISON range between 35 and 110 m² in size, inviting guests to feel just like at home amid its exquisite furnishings.

The MADISON is located in the heart of Hamburg: between the harbor and the city, Elbe and Alster, bustling urban life and serene comfort. So it comes as no surprise that the hotel, privately owned and operated by Marlies Head, is not merely a place to stay the night, but instead becomes a home away from home for many of her guests. Marlies Head previously played a significant role in the development of Block House, a popular restaurant chain in Germany, and has been running the luxury hotel near the harbor for more than 30 year.
