MARKUS MUELLER shoots new worldwide PATTEX campaign for HEIMAT, EVONIK image for KNSK and POST FINANCE and MIGROS in Switzerland

If you design an elaborate photo set, then you need to make sure it is stable and reliable too. It was probably a good thing that the set, which was created in the studio for photographer Markus Mueller, served as the set for the first part of the new PATTEX worldwide campaign. Markus used lots of attention to detail and copious dust, dirt, fog and nails to create a mystical mood and a patina-packed look for the images of the new PATTEX campaign. The agency was Heimat Berlin, represented by Creative Director Frank Hose and Art Director Benjamin Mohr. Post–production by RECOM.

Things got glamorous on an EVONIK shoot: Markus Mueller shot an impressive image titled ‘tempest’ at the Ruhrfestspiele theatre in Recklinghausen. Named after Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, one of the highlights of the Ruhrfestspiele theatre season, sponsored by Evonik.

Creative Director Vera Hampe and Art Director Christoph Klasen were on location for KNSK. RECOM took care of the post-production.

Markus practically travelled all over Switzerland for Swiss client POST FINANCE. The dynamic shoots took the team from mountain lakes and vast pastures to the coolest loft in Zurich. From circus artist to suburban hipster, the team had it all covered. GoSee Member VISUAL EYES took care of the production on both shoots, TWENTYFOURSEVEN perfected the post-production. The agency was Publicis advertising agency Switzerland.

Markus Mueller was on the road in Switzerland for Publicis agency. He shot the relaunch of the Migros Cumulus-Green programme for Migros and Cumulus Mastercard, enabling clients to see just how sustainable their shopping is while they are still in the supermarket. The concept was created in cooperation with WWF.

About MARKUS MUELLER

Like few other photographers Markus Mueller knows how to use visual means – depth in particular – to create places that invite discovery. Throughout his work he rejects the obvious and embraces the freely associative.

Markus Mueller's path to photography was preceded by a detour through the humanities. He began a degree program in history and political science in his hometown of Dresden, but while slogging through dreary texts he discovered his love of images, and decided to leave university and concentrate on photography instead. He first worked as a photographer’s assistant, and later enrolled at Berlin’s Lette Verein school, earning his diploma in 2003. Since then he has lived and worked in Germany’s capital, where his office is now based.

In addition to his art photography, Markus Mueller is known for his sophisticated work in advertising and is an internationally sought-after photographer for clients such as Adidas, Volkswagen, Land Rover, O2, Hornbach, Mercedes-Benz and Panasonic. Even in his commercial projects, Markus Mueller eschews the functional and instrumental and seeks to create timeless, enduring images. He has received numerous awards for his work, including a Clio Award, an Epica Award and a WPPED Cream Award as well as prizes from ADC Germany, ADC Europe, Cannes Lions and D&AD London.
